Frequently Asked Questions

You must present a valid driver’s license, a major credit card in the renter’s name, and a signed rental agreement and waiver before the cart is released. The card is used for payment and as a hold for damage or extra charges. All riders should sit in a designated seat. Children must be able to sit upright. No standing on the back or riding on the bumper.

The person who books must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license. Additional drivers must also be 21+ with a valid license and listed on the rental agreement. We do not rent to anyone who cannot meet those requirements. Local law may allow younger licensed drivers on some roads; our rental policy is 21+.

Reserve online 24/7 at CoastalBeachCarts.Rentals. Choose your dates, cart size (4-passenger or 6-passenger), and delivery address. You will receive a confirmation and the rental agreement to review and sign. Peak weeks book early — reserve as soon as your vacation dates are set.

Because of high demand, standard reservations cannot be canceled or refunded. Dates are held for your party once the booking is confirmed. If you purchased the No-Hassle Cancellation add-on at the time of booking, you may cancel up to 2 hours before the scheduled rental start for a full refund. Cancellations inside that 2-hour window, no-shows, and early returns are not refunded. The No-Hassle Cancellation add-on must be selected when you book. It cannot be added later. Weather, red tide, and change-of-plans are not automatic refunds unless that add-on was purchased and you cancel at least 2 hours prior. Mandatory hurricane evacuation ordered by Gulf County or the State of Florida remains fully refundable whether or not the Add-On was purchased.

Same-day rentals are available if a cart is available. There is no hourly rate. The minimum rental is a full day (8 hours). Same-day rental requests are first-come, first-served.

Delivery: by 4:00 PM on your arrival date. Pickup: by 9:00 AM on your day of departure. You do not have to be home. Leave the cart in a safe, accessible spot, reasonably clean, and plugged in if an outlet is available.

We rent non-LSV lithium EZ-GO golf carts in 4-passenger and 6-passenger. They are quiet, no-gas carts with headlights, brake lights, and turn signals. They are not highway vehicles. Stay on approved community roads, private property, designated paths, and permitted beach areas only. Do not drive on Hwy 98 or Cape San Blas Road (CR 30E). Windmark Beach driving stays inside the community. Beach driving is generally limited to Cape San Blas and Indian Pass with a permit.

Use the onboard charger and a standard household 110/120-volt outlet. Plug the charger into the wall, then into the cart (or as labeled on that cart). Charge on a dry, outdoor-rated setup when possible. ONLY use the provided charging cord. A 12-gauge extension cord is provided upon request if your outlet is not next to the cart. Keep the cord uncoiled, off sharp edges, and away from standing water. Do not drive the cart while it is plugged in. Misuse of battery charging, or allowing the battery to drop below 15%, will result in a $150 recovery fee. A replacement cart is not guaranteed, and no prorated refund will be issued.

A full charge typically covers about 35–50 miles of mixed local driving, depending on passengers, speed, hills, sand, and how much you use lights and accessories. That is usually more than enough for a full day around Port St. Joe, Windmark, Indian Pass, or Cape San Blas. Plug in overnight on multi-day rentals so you start each morning full.

From a low charge, plan on about 3–6 hours for a full charge on a normal household outlet. A short top-off after a few hours of driving often takes 1–2 hours. Leaving it plugged in overnight is the easiest routine. The charger is designed to stop when the pack is full.

Yes. A damage waiver is available at booking. It reduces what you owe for accidental damage to our cart, subject to the terms in the rental agreement (it does not cover reckless use, DUI, off-limit roads, beach driving without a permit, lost keys, or dirty-cart fees). The waiver does not replace your own auto coverage and does not cover injury to people. You remain responsible for citations, towing, and misuse. We recommend you ask your insurance agent whether golf cart rental use is covered on your policy.

Yes, in areas that allow it, until local cutoff times. Our carts have headlights, brake lights, and turn signals. In the City of Port St. Joe, golf carts with proper lighting may operate from sunset until midnight on designated streets. Use headlights after dusk, obey the same traffic rules as cars, and do not drink and drive. Windmark, Cape San Blas, Indian Pass, and beach areas each have their own rules — stay inside the zone for your delivery address. Lights and signals do not make the cart a street-legal LSV and do not allow highway driving.

Only in the approved zone for your drop-off: Port St. Joe — designated city streets (not Hwy 98 / Hwy 71 except marked crossings). Windmark Beach — community roads and paths only; no beach driving; no crossing to town or the Cape. Indian Pass & Cape San Blas — local and permitted beach access only.

Call or text us right away. Mechanical issues that are not caused by misuse are repaired or swapped as soon as we can. If the problem is from charging misuse or a battery left below 15%, a $150 recovery fee is assessed, a replacement cart is not guaranteed, and no prorated refund will be issued.
